My grandaunt Mrs. Betty Butler Madden (nee Karl) and her husband Gerald Butler Madden lived here in 1926 with their children. After which they moved to 18, Bukit Bintang Road in Kuala Lumpur around 1931, and 30, Parry Road, Kuala Lumpur around 1942 before they evacuated from Malaya. I would like to find out where these places are. If the streets have changed names and what the currents names are today. Gerald Butler Madden was Irish. He was a barrister but worked as a rubber planter in Ipoh and K.L., and spoke Tamil, Malay and Chinese. His son Leslie also worked as a rubber planter in Malaya and was just a linguist as his father. The late Leslie and my mother are first cousins.
