I have to agree with you about better Chinese food in USA especially here in LA. I was also in Beijing and the food there is nowhere as good as the Chinese foods here. While in Beijing, we had most meals at local eateries, wanting to sample what the locals eat. Everything was quite disappointing. Not a fan of hotel foods but because we were too tired to venture out one day, we decided to give the restaurant at our hotel (Hyatt) a try and that was the best meal there, comparable to the ones we get here.
