How can I laugh at you when I listen to Xian Jianli, a sublime Cantonese opera soprano.

I think Foong Po Po (or Fong Bao Bao) came to my house in Ipoh one day! Beef Ball Man and family brought her. My memory of this is vague, except for two things. One, I remember the amah telling me about the arrival of a famous actress from HK. Two, when one of Fong Bao Bao's early movies came on one evening, mum and the amahs were chattering excitedly about the actress who visited. When she finally appeared on screen, I said to amah "but this actress on TV is a little girl. The 'cheh-cheh' who came was an adult."(!!).

I still have a 10" LP of Fong Bao Bao singing her signature tune "Ma Ma Hao"!
