When it comes to popular evening restaurants, the name that came to my mind was Kok Kee Restaurant on Hugh Low Street (next to what used to be Federal Bowl). The restaurant itself was located inside a stately and spacious mansion. It's decor and ambience was better than the average chinese restaurant, and it also has well-appointed individual party rooms for small dinner gatherings. This restaurant was surrounded by a large compound, thus parking was never a problem. The quality of its food was outstanding and my favorite dish was udang galah and asparagus, stir fried with sambal belachan.

Like many other great restaurants, Kok Kee has sadly sailed into oblivion. Those of us who enjoy good food will always remember with nostalgia, the great dining experience we have had in this fine restaurant.

Regards and best wishes!

Ken.
