The fried chicken was quite a big hit despite being very oily! You peeled off the tracing paper and oil would gush out. Still, curious customers ensured the item's popularity.

Kwong Chow haunted? I thought the place was so bright and noisy that any ghost would flee in horror! But seriously, my amah, Ah Yau, told me the same thing when I asked her to buy me something from Kwong Chow one evening. "Haven't you heard" she asked in horror "that the place got 'kwai'!"
